The Day of the Employee of the Internal Affairs Bodies of the Russian Federation is celebrated annually on November 10. This professional holiday is established to honor employees and veterans of the internal affairs bodies, including the police, investigative bodies and other units responsible for law and order and security in the country.

The date of November 10 was chosen in connection with the issuance of a decree in 1917 on the creation of a workers' militia, which became the starting point for the formation of public order protection agencies.

Celebration Traditions
Festive events. Official ceremonies are held in various divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the awarding of the best employees for conscientious service. Senior officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the Minister of Internal Affairs, deliver congratulatory speeches and summarize the results of the year.

Concerts and cultural programs. Festive concerts dedicated to the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are held in the Kremlin Palace or other large halls. Famous artists and groups participate, patriotic and thematic songs are performed.

Ceremony of awards and titles. Employees who have distinguished themselves in their service are awarded state awards, departmental medals and certificates of honor.

Memorial events. On this day, employees who died in the line of duty are also remembered. Flowers are laid at memorials and monuments.
